We’re located at 12 Dixon Street, Masterton (opposite Queen Elizabeth Park, next to the iSite and close to Aratoi Museum of Art and History).

It takes about 90 minutes to drive from either Wellington or Palmerston North, on State Highway 2. Pukaha Mount Bruce bird sanctuary is approximately 20 minutes north of us, the wine region of Martinborough is approximately 40 minutes south, and the Wairarapa towns of Carterton and Greytown are just 10 and 15 minutes away, respectively.

Opening times and entrance fees:

Open 10am – 4pm Mon-Fri, 10am - 3pm Weekends and public holidays. Closed Christmas Day, Good Friday and ANZAC day.

Museum charges are $10 for adults, $8 for Gold Card holders, $3 for children under 15, $20 for families (two adults & four children). Children under five are free.

FREE entry to the Golden Shears Wall of Fame and to our retail shop, which is full of elegant wool apparel, sheepskin items, fleeces for spinning and souvenirs.
